Rosemont was developed between 1946 and 1980, the neighbourhood consists primarily of single family homes. It includes 13 parks / green spaces including the A.E. Wilson Park walkway and Rick Hansen Park, which has been recognized for its accessible design. The Rosemont Shopping centre on 4th Avenue is a close hub for shopping and services.
There are three elementary schools (Rosemont Community School, St. Francis Community School & Walker School) and one high school (Martin Collegiate) that caters to the children in the neighbourhood. Martin Collegiate has started a new program called Martin Academy. A student / athlete can train for their specific sports during the day with a flexible class schedule. The training sessions are done with professional instructors and academy coaches in the athlete's specific sport. This program is helping students excel in education and sport. Martin believes in cultivating the Athletes at their school to reach a higher level.
